Monkey Babies

Monkey Babies, originally uploaded by jrambow.

Although it is a scientific fact that monkeys are evil or at least evilish, it is sometimes impossible to resist their cute faces and antics. Also, they are so often forming scenes that make it look as if they may be part of a perfect nuclear or extended family. Of course, all this togetherness is usually because they are busy picking lice and other creatures off each other, but that doesn't make it any less cute. And a nit-picking monkey is a busy monkey -- one that isn't baring its fangs, or trying to steal something, or making other monkeys.

you could have taken that pic on my balcony or terrace.

I love the monkeys. (except when my hubby stupidly leaves the trash on the balcony cause he's too tired to bring it out at night and then forgets about it and the monkeys come and rifle thru it and throw it all 4 stories down... uuuuuuuuuugggggh)

Katherine & Cheryl: But they so often come joined at the hip to monkey mommies with large-looking teeth.

Small Squirrel: Do you have to keep everything off the balcony, or is it just the garbage that brings out the litterbug in the monkeys?

Binu, that's awful! Although it has to be said that it was the fall from the balcony and not, say, monkey bites that killed the deputy mayor. But of course I can see how a monkey attack would make it hard to pay attention to what you're doing.
